Sara & Lesley have not got a receipt for the polo coaching course & referee course that was paid for by the grant money, Hayley has been in contact with British Canoeing to get a duplicate receipt (awaiting response). Lesley to meet up with Sara to discuss and sort out this issue.

Equipment

Ian Jennings has suggested the idea of buying more children’s buoyancy aids
Paul to order 5 children’s buoyancy aids
Paul to look into how we sign out kit and keep better records of this. Paul & Level 2 at the lake to be the only person to sign out kit, under no circumstances should this is changed.
Paul to look at boat repairs and work with Richard to fix these (RPM Footrest)

Events

Martin Aldridge & Fraser Watson are no longer running trips for HCC
Rutland trip was successful (Trip report is on the website)
Advanced canoeing weekend went well on the Lower Tryweryn
Intro to WW trip been organised, Grade ¾ trip is in the process of being organised
WW Scotland trip is being organised for the end of the year – Further details TBC
Canoe camping weekend in July is being organised by Dave Clarke, probably likely to be around Ross-on-Wye area
A campsite has been decided for the surfing trip, members will need to book themselves on.

Callum Longshaw running intro to racing boats sessions for the club, bringing 5 boats with him

Sea Cadets
(Claire & Shane)
came to the meeting to discuss partnership with HCC for their young people (minimum age 10 years old) regarding canoeing, kayaking & maybe other watersports in the future.
Hayley to email our proposal to Claire, aiming for 20th May to be the first of 6 sessions over the 2018 season. Main aims from them are:

– Get there young people some access to the water this summer

– Help with coaching / instruction

– Use of resources both equipment and water access

– Build a mutually beneficially relationship for both parties

– Long term – Within Stanton Lakes expand opportunities for the local community
with different activities

Michael Ward has asked for the committee to discuss the idea of subsidising petrol costs for trip leaders – This was discussed and was decided that trip leaders who run a number of trips throughout the year will be considered for free membership for the following year.
Hayley to advertise the leader kit for all leaders to use, Paul to top up with some other kit.
