Perfect weather, a good turnout, good company and a great day!
Everyone met at Fladbury to get organised and get the boats into the river. After a short paddle up river to get settled into our boats it was time for the first weir. Everyone managed this successfully but I think Dave our intrepid leader managed an unintentional roll, not sure what happened there 😉
After a couple of miles we pulled into the bank for some of us to stretch our legs and have a snack.
After another couple of miles and passing 2 pubs without stopping, clearly not my idea, it was time for lunch and a welcome break before carrying on to the 2nd weir. This was slightly less exciting than the first weir but good fun all the same.
Another mile or so of pleasant paddling and it was time for the last exciting weir of the day. With some showing signs of nerves, this was successfully run by everyone so gave a good sense of achievement.
Then all that was left was a short paddle to reach our destination, Pershore bridge.
A great day was had by all. For some, myself including, this was their first club trip. 🙂
