With a good incentive ahead, twenty of us set off for an afternoon paddle on the Ashby canal from our home waters at Burton Hastings, heading to the Lime Kilns pub (on the A5) for a pint or two.
It was good to see so many members on the trip. It was really good that Lesley and Rod joined us (they have not paddled for a very long time).
We had a lot of new members and a few guests on there first trip. After a well deserved beer we headed back a lot quicker than we got there for some.
A nice afternoon was had by all, and a big well done to all the first timers.
