bell2

The day started when we all arrived to the river Avon. We headed to the river where the bell boats were. Hayley and Dave unhooked the boats and then brought forwards so all of us could get in. we all found a pair and stuck with them in the boats for the whole trip.
Hayley was in charge of one bell boat steering and Dave and Dale were in charge of the other one. I was in the same boat as Dave, Dale, Matt, Martin, Jack, Ross, William, Oliver, Zoe, Andy. We all had a go at steering including William and Oliver. We went to the next weir which was 2.5 miles long. Then we had some food and some people swapped boats.
Then we headed back which was a little race but there was no prize for the winner. My boat won which had Myself steering, Dale helping me a little telling me which way to turn, Matt played his part telling people to do the same stroke has everyone else and the rest just following Matt. At times Hayley’s boat steered into ours but that didn’t put us of course we just carried on. Then jack let go of the steering paddle by mistake, Hayley’s boat very kindly got it back for us. When we got back after the little incident’s our boat won and we waited for the other one. Some of us got off at the base which didn’t really have an effect to what we did. Some of us got into one boat down to the next weir which only took 3 minutes. Then we came back up to the base where all of us got off apart from me and Dale offered to put the boat away. After we tied them up me and Dale were about to get off the water. When I was getting off I trusted Dale to hold me and I fell in and pulled Dale with me.
Then me and dale started laughing when we got off and started speaking about what just happened, this made my day!

Thanks for inviting me Hayley and thank you Hinckley Canoe Club for a awesome day out bell boating it was a great experience.
