Right in the heart of the Black Country by the Iron Bridge we gather for breakfast, a must before any paddle. Our café guide Rob finding us another little gem.
We meet in the car part just next to the get in. It’s a beautiful day with clear skies and Penny has a full view of the “moon”.
Jackfield isn’t a very long rapid but its pretty quick and technical. There were a few of us doing our first three star training and a few just enjoying the rapids. The rapids are stronger and faster at the top section, and then slows down nearer the get off.
It was a great day and all enjoyed themselves, the caged in rocks against the far bank did prove to be a bother, my condolences to Dave Hutts cag.
And so after a good days paddling, thanks to Penny, Mick and Scott, a relaxing drink and a packet of pork scratchings in the pub over looking the rapids, perfect viewing for those wishing to stay dry.
